The Soundlab is a space to innovate and pursue the boundaries of sonic exploration. Join us Thursday September 20th to talk about Analog Glitch and the Deliberate Misuse of Consumer Electronics!
Open to the public each third-Thursday of the month, the Eastern Bloc Lab allows community members and working artists engaged at Eastern Bloc to socialise and create new work. It is a place for design of music and electronics in Montreal, Quebec.
The Soundlab features a guest artist this month with a presentation Analog Glitch and the Deliberate Misuse of Consumer Electronics, in two parts. In the first half of this soundLab Alain Lefebvre will demonstrate glitch techniques as he considers various reasons for subverting materials in this way. All are invited to bring a pedal or other consumer electronic item, for in the second half, the group will explore ways of glitching those items (without breaking them).
Alain Lefebvre is a Montreal-based musician who makes abstract noise music with amplified objects, electromagnetic signals, pedals and lo-fi devices which he pushes beyond their intended uses and capabilities.
Free / Participants arrival between 7;7:30, space to be exited: 10pm / Light snacks provided, beverages for sale on site.
