The Desire that Crosses You

9 September 2017, 19:00 - 3:00

Eastern Bloc [7240 Clark, Montréal H2R 2Y3]

Sometime in the past year we woke up inside a dystopian novella.

We are like Alice falling down the rabbit hole – but as things gets deeper and deeper, they get bleaker and bleaker.

And how to get out?

Desire is force, source, power, it is a real delirium. Desire is the motor at the beginning of every action that moves us – that might move us forward, towards new forms of emergence.

We are trying to push desire in all the directions it needs to go at this time: in a time of endings and upheaval, how is desire crossing your body, convoking and producing all sorts of forces and lives?

In 1977, in a call-to-arms the Italian Pirate Radio Station, “Radio Alice” urged us:
“Let’s not speak of desire anymore. Let’s desire. We are desire machines. Machines of war.”
We hear those echoes, we amplify them, we mutate them towards fresh provocation and exploration.

On September 9th, join us for an evocative night of art, performances and joy.
