Pirate radio transmissions (Micro-FM)
20 May 2014, 10:00 - 18:00

Micro-FM is an open space workshop for the study of radio-electric waves in a wide range spectrum. From Micro-FM to net.radio, passing over on satellite transmissions, radio control flying devices, and local radio scanning. Participants will build a micro-FM radio using free and open hardware and software. The notions of radio art, sound art, noise, EVP and many more issues that help us redefine what radio practices mean today in this digital age, will be explored. At dusk participants will attempt to monitor satellite passes and over the course of a few days will go outdoors and re-enact the game of "Bringing Down Drones With Stones", a symbolic action against the cowardly use of drone technology for military and surveillance purposes.
