21.00 I Performance - Oscillator Set Directed by Nicolas Bernier
The Oscillator Set is a project conceived as a space for reflection and action around the musicalisation of the most basic sound: the sine wave. Unique in its kind, the ensemble is at the antipode of the miniaturization of today's electronic instruments, each musician playing on heavy oscillators from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
While reinterpreting historical repertoire of early electronic music, the ensemble stimulates contemporary creation by hosting artists in residency, as well as guests from various backgrounds, at the crossroads of electronic, experimental, mixed and improvised music. The ensemble was founded in 2016 at the Faculté de musique de l’Université de Montréal and is directed by multidisciplinary artist Nicolas Bernier.
18.00 - 22.00 I Installation Vernissage
Navid Navab I tangibleFlux φ plenumorphic ∴ chaosmosis
In search of the hidden mysteries of matter from the borders of table-top astrophysics and natural fiction, three microcosms orchestrate states of sensory access to the phenomenological emergence of order out of chaos.
Sam Bourgault and Emma Forgues I "Pero sans Cimon" is a reinterpretation of "Roman Charity": a narrative from antiquity that functions as a historical reference to the female body as a means of production. Here, a semi-organic machine relentlessly pumps milk to serve the patriarchal society, as if detached from its original conditions.
Audiotopie I SILO is an interactive installation that explores the notion of place and the way it is created through a sound universe activated and improvised by the public.
Gijs Gieskes I Perma - Patch
A complex and playful music box, composed of sounds produced by Game Boys and machine-generated visuals created from scratch.
