"Fireplace” is a video piece presenting scenes of burning optical mouses and keyboards as would tinder in a fireplace. In the old days of "hearth and home," the fireplace was the center of a family's living space and the primary gathering place, only to be replaced by the TV. Interestingly, though, in many countries, some channels broadcast a fireplace, which has become a popular practice over the years. In a time of ubiquitous "smart" technology, we no longer need the PC, and even the television no longer has its place in the family home. So, how about making use of new fireplaces, to burn away yet another legacy, as we shift to a new world of personal decentralized displays?
