R.Lyon creates machines to collapse the future and the present, conjures objects of desire from alias and error, traces maps to the locations of power, and materializes the cybernetic intelligences that mediate our world. A Javits scholar and resident of New York City, he is a graduate of the Columbia University MFA Program as well as the Creative Director for R.hythm and L.yrics Booking Agency and the publishing house His recent exhibition "Processing" (in collaboration with Fia Backström and Julieta Aranda) was at the Goethe Institute in New York City and resulted in the development of the Human Readable Type, an open source international keyboard that protects human language from data mining.
