Magdalena Olszanowski [CA]
Magdalena Olszanowski (SSHRC/FQRSC Fellow), is a part-time instructor in Communication Studies and Women’s Studies, an artist, and PhD candidate in Communication Studies at Concordia University. As a senior researcher part of ACT (Ageing, Communication, Technologies), she incorporates technology and image-based media as an activist tactic in elder communities. In 2013, she participated in the Hemispheric Institute's Art & Resistance course in Chiapas. with a particular focus on the self-image and censorship. Her work can be found in journals such as Feminist Media Studies,Visual Communication Quarterly and nomorepotlucks. Her dissertation is focused on the feminist internet histories of the 1990s. She is also currently working on, microfemininewarfare, a documentary featuring women experimental electronic music composers.
