Programming for Kids
1 February - 22 March 2014, 9:00 - 11:00
WORKSHOPS GIVEN BY STEPHAN SCHULZ
Stephan Schulz and Eastern Bloc would like to help your kids understand the basic concepts of programming (coding) as it is becoming more and more ubiquitous in our everyday interactions with technology. Your children play online games, apps on your phone or tablet, but do they know that they can create their own?
In a dynamic, interactive, hands on environment, using both online and offline activities we will teach your children the fundamentals of coding. Our aim is to give them the tools necessary to better understand the technologies that surround them and encourage them to modify those technologies to better suit their needs in the future.
We will be offering an eight week series of classes for different age groups. When signing up for the class, please state your child's age and whether or not they have any previous experience with computers. The groups will be divided by age: 5 to 7 years old, 7 to 9 years old, and 10 to 14 years old. By the end of the six weeks, the students will be able to create their own personalized projects.
To register your child for the classes, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with their age and any previous experience.
*** Due to professional travel obligations the classes may not be offered every week, you will be advised in advance. There will be a total of 8 classes given***
