Description: This one-day workshop will provide an introduction to Blender: a professional, open-source software for 3D modelling, rendering, and animation. Participants will learn how to import, modify 3D models from the Thingiverse. A brief introduction to Blender materials, lighting systems, and image rendering will be provided.
Prerequisite: Blender is an open-source software compatible with Mac, Linux, and PC computers. Participants should bring their own mouse and laptop with the software installed.
MORNING
- Navigating: An introduction to the Blender graphic user interface (GUI) and keyboard shortcuts.
- Importing: Exploring the Thingiverse. Participants will choose one or two pre-existing STL models and import them into Blender.
AFTERNOON
- Modelling + Texturing: Participants will be introduced to basic 3D modelling tools, modifiers, and materials.
- Troubleshooting
- Lighting: A basic discussion of lighting and rendering.
- Troubleshooting
- Rendering: Participants will prepare their model for image rendering.
- Online Resources: Presentation of free material libraries, online tutorials, and other helpful links.
Members/Students: $60 || Regular: $70
48 hours cancellation notice is required for any reimbursement.
