soundLab

17 May 2018, 19:30 - 22:00

SoundLab is a monthly meet up dedicated to the creation and development of electronic musical instruments, noise boxes, and sound objects.

With soundLab we offer a space to innovate and pursue the boundaries of sonic exploration. The gathering is focused on offering a complement to message boards and instead encouraging the exchange of knowledge and inspiration between peers together in a physical space. Each third Thursday of the month in the Eastern Bloc lab, members can be found working on a collaborative synth project or impromptu performances and improvisations. Throughout the evening members exchange concepts, share techniques, give advice, and connect with other makers.

NEXT MEETUP: Come share in our collaborative exploration of musical electronics, including a large Collective Modular Synth project, focused thinking time and informed problem solving. Also: fun! All skill levels welcome.

PAST AND PRESENT CONVERSATIONS : amplification techniques, hardware/software relationships, interdisciplinary/multimedia application of self-made electroniques including video art modeling, and cultural implications, focus on specific components, and use and care of tools. This month we are open to suggestions and presentations.
