Exhibition | FEMALE FUTURES

"Pleasure Receptors" is an interactive sculpture installation using various sensors and audience input. The work focuses on themes of sexuality, technology, and feminism in regards to technology and its ability to act as both a means of control and liberation. In the age of cam girls and sex bots, Pleasure Receptors seeks to recontextualize abstract notions of cyber sex into a material and tangible art object. The work is essentially an orgasm machine, where technology is reliant on human interaction in order to reach climax.

BIO /  Katherina Ilenseer is a contemporary new media artist whose work combines the use of 3D modelling, interactive installation, electronics, sound and video. Her work borders between the ironic and sincere, the tangible and the virtual.
