Jennifer Chan joins forces with Cat Bluemke, Jonathan Carroll, and Ben McCarthy to apply a user testing approach to creating a game for cats.
- Jennifer Chan was inspired by the pioneering canadian artists : Emily Vey Duke and Cooper Battersby -
The creators of UX for Cats are animal-loving cat owners who hope to use their respective talents in web development, graphic design, sound design and game development to create a game for domestic cats. Their work process involved many dead-serious cycles of surveys, theoretical discussions, listening parties, flowchart brainstorming, rapid prototyping of videos, animations and apps to test on prospective cat subjects.
BIO / Jennifer Chan is a retired academic, former vegetarian, light-skinned East Asian artist who supports her art practice by working in tech support. Ben McCarthy makes unlistenable music and hosts a podcast called Precariat Content where he interviews artists on how they make a living.
Cat Bluemke is an immaculate maker, illustrator and artistic designer of professional-looking capitalist goods, sometimes in a collective called Tough Guy Mountain. Jonathan Carroll makes animations and games about the woes of capitalism -also for Tough Guy Mountain-and makes music in a band called Therapy Font with Ben.
